Train Model
The eco train model series, a kind of railway transportation, features metal body, electric power, advanced information display, and modular design. The size is HO scale, which is 1:87.
The purpose is multifold:
- to provide a sandbox where people can construct their own train system, while they have no control over the real train system.
- act as the first step for integrating more complex transportation system, such as cable car, tram, green way, etc
- to show the conciseness of the information display system, providing the feeling of transparency, efficiency and artistic design.
locomotive
The locomotive is in charge of hauling the whole train, with powerful brushless motor, li-ion battery, and alluminum or stainless steel body. The locomotive is designed to be modular and easy to disassemble, so that it can be easily repaired or upgraded.
size for wheel and bogie:
- wheel diameter: 2cm (common size is 1.2cm for HO scale) * 0.5cm
- distance between two wheels: 3cm, axis diameter: 4mm
- bogie size: 4cm3cm1cm
- carridge size: 22cm3.5cm5.2cm
detailed description: For the wheel, the diameter is about 2.5cm, and the width is about 0.5cm. The distance between the two wheels is about 3cm, and the diameter of the axis is 4mm, made of stainless steel to ensure robostness. The wheels are made of alluminum.
The bogie/truck holds the wheels together, made of alluminum, and it connects the wheels to the body of the locomotive.
information display
overall features:
- OLED display inside the train to show the next station, the current speed, the time, etc.
- the display at the station shows the arrival time of the next train, the current time, etc.
- the display of the control center shows the real time location of the train, the speed, the schedule, etc.
schedule
express 1 intercontinental express
The express 1 (E1) intercontinental express is the first line of the eco train model series, connecting south cities in China to cities in North Europe. The train is powered by electricity, and the engine is a turbojet engine, unlike the traditional wheel-based locomotive.
Stops along the line:
Shenzhen, China-> Beijing, China -> Copenhagen, Denmark -> Oslo, Norway
The locomotive of the E1 line is also the first prototype of the eco train model series, which is highly experimental, featuring a streamlined design and strong metalic body. The train has an outside 128*32 OLED display, showing the line name, the departure and terminal stations, and the next station.
line 1 local line The line 1 (L1) local line is the second line of the series, connecting several local stations in the Ecocity. The train is powered by electricity, and the engine is a normal wheel-based locomotive, with a more traditional design. The train also has an outside 128*32 OLED display.
Stops along the line:
Sydstrand -> Central -> OstTech -> NordSocial -> Airport
